According to Infonetics Research, shipments of DOCSIS 3.0 CPE in the second quarter of 2013 outweighed those for DOCSIS 2.0. Fixed LTE gateways also did well, particularly in the Middle East, Africa, the Philippines, and other areas of Southeast Asia.Other findings indicate:


  • Worldwide broadband CPE revenue reached $2.7 billion in 2Q13, up 8% from the previous quarter and up 29% from a year ago.


  • Intelligent, video-capable gateways are catching on as connected home and multiscreen services continue to proliferate.


  • Global FTTH CPE sales grew 7% between the first and second quarters of 2013.
