At IBC in Amsterdam, Rovi (NASDAQ:ROVI) announced the latest updates to its MainConcept HEVC software development kit (SDK), first released at the NAB Show in June.As well as working to continue to improve HEVC format quality and bitrate savings, the latest SDK v1.1 update adds real-time 4K decoding and support for HM 11 anchor streams. MainConcept SDK v1.1 is integrated in the company's DivX 10 HEVC-enabled consumer software, and is being integrated in Rovi TotalCode, a professional content production solution.In other Rovi news, the company announced that Kinema-Junposha in Japan has selected Rovi's DivX Video Service to power Japan's first DivX premium online video store. The company also says it has achieved a milestone with 1 billion DivX devices shipped worldwide.
