SMC Networks has selected the MaxLinear (NYSE:MXL) MxL265 Full-Spectrum Capture (FSC) digital cable front-end receiver for its new family of DOCSIS 3.0 cable modems and gateways.First in SMC's new 16x4 cable gateway family, the Veloxite D3G1604W, recently achieved certification from CableLabs. The D3G1604W is a high-speed wireless data gateway designed using the MxL265 cable tuner capable of receiving up to 680 Mbps via 16 bonded downstream channels. The D3G1604W also features WiFi configurations from dual band dual concurrent 3x3 WiFi to single band 2.4 GHz 3x3 or 2x2, as well as 802.11ac technology.
