Azuki Systems announced a new solution intended to accelerate cable operators' migration from QAM to IP video. The Azuki MSO Solution, based on the company's Media Platform 4.0 release, is designed to let cable operators reclaim QAM bandwidth and boost advanced services, while reducing video delivery costs and offering TV Everywhere services. The new solution is designed to:

  • Offer delivery of linear TV by edge-based adaptive bitrate unicasting for SD and HD content, distributed over the network only when requested

  • Reclaim QAM bandwidth with a low-cost IP set-top box to deliver cloud-based time-shifted TV services on any channel

  • Use IP video to eliminate extra hardware, such as multiple tuners, DVR storage and CableCARDs

  • Offer TV Everywhere services across multiple devices in home or on-the-go by natively supporting ABR without the need for conversions or gateways
