Time Warner Cable (NYSE:TWC) has begun deployment of TWC WiFi, a citywide WiFi Hotspot network for its customers in Austin, TX. Access to the WiFi network is free to TWC customers with Standard Internet or above and to TWC Business Class Internet customers. Free Trial and Prepaid Access options are also available. The MSO has a limited number of hotspots deployed now and plans to add hundreds more in 2013 as it builds out the network.Earlier this month, Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) announced that Austin will be its next site for Google Fiber service. TWC said on its blog page that WiFi for Austin was already scheduled for 2013, but Google’s recent announcement encouraged the MSO to move up the timetable.
