Concurrent (NASDAQ:CCUR) announced Cache Xpander, a scalable caching solution for its MediaHawk VX Unified Content Delivery Solution. It's designed to increase the amount of cache that can be configured at the edge of the network, to enable operators to deploy larger video content libraries and better manage CDN traffic across the network backbone.Included in the latest release of Concurrent's MediaHawk VX software, Cache Xpander is intended to allow network attached storage units to be connected to and shared across multiple video streaming servers, extending cache capacity beyond the constraints of a single server chassis. It has options for solid-state media or disk drives. By employing multiple storage units, edge server complexes can be configured to support more than 100 TB of solid-state cache capacity. It also features automated fault resiliency to allow servers to be taken off-line for maintenance without impacting CDN cache.
