The SCTE has approved two standards, one on VPNs and the other on loudness measurements.SCTE 136-1 2013, "Layer 2 Virtual Private Networks for IP Cable Modem Systems," describes requirements on both CMTSs and cable modems in order to implement a DOCSIS layer 2 virtual private network (DOCSIS L2VPN) feature.SCTE 197 2013, "Recommendations for Spot Check Loudness Measurements," provides recommendations for measuring content carried in a single programming channel of a program network for 24 hours as part of managing audio loudness.Both standards are available at http://www.scte.org/standards/Standards_Available.aspx.
