Minerva Networks is previewing a multiscreen solution running simultaneously over a hybrid and a pure IP network infrastructure at the CableLabs Winter Conference this week in Orlando, FL. Built around Minerva's iTVFusion service management platform, the solution is designed to enable cable MSOs to offer advanced TV services including whole-home DVR, VOD and multiscreen video over both traditional QAM networks and DOCSIS-based infrastructure.Minerva's iTVFusion platform is designed to support the delivery and management of multiple content formats to support the integration of QAM, IP multi-cast, or adaptive bitrate streaming content to set-top boxes and other consumer electronics devices inside or outside the home. Features like whole-home DVR and restart TV can be offered to subscribers equipped with hybrid-IP gateways or IP STBs. The platform is designed to integrate with both legacy and new cloud-based VOD services and to natively support multiscreen navigation and playback of content sourced from either the hybrid home gateway or the cable operator's headend.
