Path 1's PiXiE is an MPEG-4 AVC HD encoder that uses MPEG-DASH. It's intended to enable content providers, third-party operators, and postproduction houses to transmit HD-SDI video over any IP network to any device. Path 1 will demonstrate the new encoder at the 2013 NAB Show in Las Vegas.The 1RU rack-mountable encoder is designed to transmit video content over CDNs and the Internet to a variety of end-user devices, or to connect to teleports and satellite uplink facilities via the Internet.
