TWC Ramps Up Sandy Disaster Relief

Photo Courtesy of Time Warner CableTo help New Yorkers in hard-hit areas like Lower Manhattan and Staten Island who are without power, Time Warner Cable (NYSE:TWC) is deploying multiple vehicles with mobile charging stations and free WiFi access points. Local residents are welcome to charge their consumer devices and access a 4G WiFi connection.The vehicles will make extended stops initially this afternoon in Chinatown, the Flatiron district and West Village. Friday, Time Warner Cable will announce additional stops in its service areas. TWC retail store locations in Staten Island and in Queens Center Mall also welcome anyone to enter and recharge their devices. TWC will also open all of its WiFi spots in the city to the public.The MSO is also making donations of $500,000 to the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City, and $50,000 each to The American Red Cross of Northeastern New York, which serves the Mid-Hudson Valley, and The American Red Cross of Northern New Jersey.
