With the Alpha Fiber Access Enclosure Series, companies no longer need to warehouse multiple battery types, which will reduce real-estate related and customization expenses as well as energy costs. The products support applications, including bulk power for primary and secondary hub requirements and locating the OLT and RFoG equipment in the outside plant.

Alpha is able to provide the enclosure separately or as a complete solution, including DC power, DC power distribution, fiber patch panels, fiber splitters and fiber management options. Therefore, it can be customized for the needed application.

Alpha's Fiber Access Enclosure Series uses DC-powered cooling. Competing solutions use HVAC and/or heat exchanges that are line powered, which means that during a power outage, cooling must be maintained by converting DC voltage to AC power via an inverter. This adds heat load to the cabinet which must also be cooled. The use of DC-powered cooling, by the Alpha line, eliminates this additional heat and electrical load from the cabinet. The equipment can run longer on batteries, Alpha says.

Designed with FTTH in mind, the Alpha Fiber Access Enclosure Series offers separated compartments so that only active components are cooled and PON reconfiguration can happen in a unique area.
