At IBC in Amsterdam, ARRIS (NASDAQ:ARRS) will preview the evolution of its set-top designs. The ARRIS VIP4000 and VIP5000 series both feature HEVC and 802.11ac WiFi. They're based on ARRIS's open IPTV platform KreaTV and are designed to support a variety of software applications. They feature a new design in a range of colors, and are slated to launch globally starting in 2015.

The VIP4000 series boxes support 1080p60 HD IP video; the VIP5000 Series supports UltraHD IP video up to 4Kx2Kp30 and features up to 1 TB of DVR storage space.
