According to Infonetics Research's first quarter (1Q11) "CMTS and Edge QAM Hardware and Subscribers" preliminary report, CMTS port shipments quarter-over-quarter were up 39% worldwide and nearly double in North America, but CMTS revenue failed to keep up.The report indicates that worldwide CMTS and edge QAM revenue grew 13% to $414 million in 1Q11 over 4Q10, and edge QAM hardware market grew 3% in 1Q11 over 4Q10. Cisco's worldwide CMTS revenue share jumped 9 percentage points to 60% in 1Q11. Cisco also posted strong gains in the edge QAM hardware market, jumping ahead of BigBand in 1Q11 to take the No. 2 spot; Harmonic maintained its lead in the edge QAM market.
