Comigo and Broadpeak announced an integrated solution intended to allow IP video operators to deliver live multiscreen TV services, in addition to personalized content, social capabilities, and content-related interactive apps. The integrated solution combines Comigo's Android-based set-top box solution and Broadpeak's nanoCDN technology. The two companies are showing the combined solution at TV Connect in London.
Comigo's TV platform is powered by a cloud-based solution designed to enable operators to manage and control the TV experience on any screen, including personalized content recommendations and content-related applications such as social apps like Facebook and Twitter.
Broadpeak's nanoCDN technology is designed to use home network devices such as set-top boxes to make them an extension of the CDN. Leveraging the multicast capability of the networks, nanoCDN is intended to enable operators to provide improved QoE for live video services while reducing costs.
