Frontier Communications (NASDAQ:FTR) plans to offer its FrontierTV video service to certain areas in Durham, NC, beginning in January. The service can be bundled with Frontier's voice and data packages starting at less than $70 per month.
The all-digital service, based the company's copper and fiber networks, features a six-tuner wireless set-top box/DVR designed to allow viewers to move TVs to any room without disrupting service. Other features include:
Support for up to 1080p for HD and 4K for UltraHD
More than 630 channels, including local programming, regional and national sports networks, news, weather and movies
A mobile app
The company launched gigabit Internet service in parts of Durham in October.
