Vecima Networks Inc. announced this week that Canadian cable operator Access Communications Co-operative will deploy Vecima's MediaScaleX platform to provide IPTV service to subscribers in Saskatchewan.
Focused on providing operators with a highly flexible and scalable solution that delivers subscribers a superior video experience, Vecima says its MediaScaleX hyperconverged software delivers the new service by leveraging common hardware infrastructures that facilitate an affordable cost profile.
The platform enables operators to sustain legacy video ecosystems while accommodating new subscribers and expanded content packages including 4K and HEVC.
“MediaScaleX supports a wide range of functionality that enhance viewers’ quality of experience (QoE), including time shifted playback and viewership through subscriber-provided devices,” said Clay McCreery, chief revenue officer at Vecima. “We are proud to partner with Access to deliver cutting edge services to their customers.”
Via the Vecima platform, Access Communications subscribers will soon enjoy new features including downloadable applications to play content on the leading retail devices, guide look back, unified search, and remote DVR scheduling.
“Access is dedicated to providing exceptional video services to the communities of Saskatchewan,” commented Jeffrey De Sarno, chief technology officer at Access Communications. “Leveraging the latest advancements in video delivery, the new solution makes it easier for our customers to view national and local content, when and how they want.”
Updated Access Communications applications will be available for all types of subscribers and use cases, including iOS, Android, and Smart TVs, starting early 2021.
