AT&T (NYSE:T) has launched its live TV service, AT&T TV, nationwide after a 13-market pilot. The service combines live TV with video streaming and apps. Powered by Android TV, it includes live video packages and offers access to live TV and apps on one device with voice control via the Google Assistant.
Customers can bundle AT&T TV and 1 Gbps Internet for $39.99/month for video and $39.99/month for Internet for 12 months with a 24-month TV agreement where available. Stand-alone AT&T TV packages start at $49.99/month for 12 months with a 24-month agreement.
"Our customers told us what they want from their TV service, and we built AT&T TV around that," said Thaddeus Arroyo, CEO of AT&T Consumer. "AT&T TV is live TV made easy, and when you add AT&T TV to our amazing 1 gigabit AT&T Internet you can't go wrong."
Other features include:
- Live TV packages, sports and access to more than 5,000 apps on the Google Play Store, including Netflix, YouTube, Pandora and Spotify. HBO Max is scheduled to launch in May, and the telco plans to integrate more apps in the future.
- A cloud DVR with 500 hours of storage and an app for smartphones or tablets.
