Cincinnati Bell (NYSE:CBB) has selected Vecima Networks' (TSX:VCM) MediaScaleX end-to-end video delivery solution to upgrade its existing video platform.

Through the MediaScaleX platform, regional content origination sites enable subscribers to access both local and national video feeds anywhere within the provider's footprint through a single integrated user interface. MediaScaleX will deploy across all of Cincinnati Bell's markets in greater Cincinnati and Hawaii, and offers integrated OTT content, cloud DVR, start over TV, catchup TV, and unified search.

"Cincinnati Bell is happy to work with Vecima in expanding the capabilities of our successful content offering. Like Cincinnati Bell, Vecima has built a strong platform and has demonstrated a commitment to innovating the future of video delivery," said Michele Lehmkuhl, vice president of Product Strategy Management for Cincinnati Bell. "Selecting the highly flexible MediaScaleX software solution enables us to evolve faster, introduce exciting new services to our customers, and is uniquely designed to scale as our footprint continues to expand."

MediaScaleX//Origin and Storage solutions feed into MediaScaleX//Cache infrastructure to offer increased capacity and new service offerings within Cincinnati Bell's content platform. Supported services will include live and on-demand content life-cycle management, time-shifted TV streaming, just-in-time packaging, content protection, and delivery to a variety of IP devices.

"Globally, both the consumption and delivery of video is rapidly changing. To take advantage of new opportunities, service providers need to adapt to the evolving demands of IP video and OTT platforms," said Clay McCreery, chief revenue officer at Vecima. "Cincinnati Bell is one of the most innovative operators in our industry, and we are proud to partner with them to provide cutting-edge services and next-generation video delivery architecture."
