ARRIS, now part of CommScope (NASDAQ:COMM), announced the availability of two WiFi 6 (802.11ax) mesh systems. The ARRIS SURFboard mAX Gigabit WiFi Pro and Plus systems are tri-band WiFi 6 mesh systems, and are scheduled to be available at retailers and SURFboard.com this month.

ARRIS built both systems around the WiFi 6 standard featuring OFDMA and High Order Modulation. WiFi 6 is intended to enable multi-gigabit speeds across a range of connected devices. WiFi 6 is also designed to support 8K video, augmented reality (AR), advanced smart cloud services, and others.

ARRIS SURFboard mAX Gigabit WiFi systems use WiFi 6 on each of three separate bands with 4x4 antennas and mesh technology.  SURFboard mAX Pro is designed to deliver speeds of up to 11 Gbps, and mAX Plus is designed to deliver speeds of up to 7.8 Gbps. Both are available as a system and as a standalone router. The standalone router is designed to provide up to 3,000 square feet of coverage, while the system is designed to provide gigabit WiFi for homes up to 6,000 square feet.

SURFboard mAX Manager iOS and Android apps are available for secure setup and management, and Amazon Alexa onboard enables voice-controlled guest WiFi management, parental controls, and other features.

"SURFboard mAX WiFi systems are the best you can buy - period," said Evan Groat, vice president, Consumer Products Group, ARRIS. "We did our research and took the time to get them right, maximizing the full potential of WiFi 6, tri-band, and mesh. The result is the world's first true tri-band WiFi 6 mesh systems. They offer performance that no other system can match. With SURFboard mAX systems, you can rest assure that you'll have the technology to power the latest, most exciting connected experiences for many years to come."

Pricing and availability of the SURFboard mAX PLUS AX11000 are a two-router system for $649.99 and a single router (standalone or add-on satellite) for $399.99, available at Best Buy on July 22 and SURFboard.com.
