Universal Electronics (NASDAQ:UEIC) has relocated its Technical Support Services (TSS) Center to a new facility in Euclid, OH.

"Our Technical Support Services Center has played a critical role in helping our customers, many of the service providers, provide an exceptional and effortless home entertainment experience across numerous connected devices. In many cases, our support services have significantly reduced support costs, trouble calls and truck rolls, while enhancing efficiencies that drive customer retention," said Steve Gutman, SVP - Subscription Broadcast Unit, Americas at UEI. "With this new facility, we can continue to expand our size and support offerings, which is becoming increasingly important, as consumer's embrace more connected devices in their homes."

Last year, Universal Electronics expanded its TSS capabilities to support residential safety and security sensors offered through its operator and dealer channels. The addition of such services reflects a broader industry shift, as service providers expand into residential security and smart home services.

"We are ramping to meet the expected demand for smart home technical support services across a range of connected devices. Our Technical Support Services staff is well trained to serve as an in-house adjunct for service provider customers," said Brian Dean, senior director, Technical Support Services. "The new state-of-the-art facility allows us to expand our staff of highly-qualified support technicians and provides a superior work environment for our employees."
