The NCTI and Comporium SMA Solutions have teamed up on an online course designed for technicians responsible for the installation and support of Comporium's Security, Monitoring and Automation (SMA) platform. The new smart home course will be available to current and prospective Comporium SMA Solutions customers beginning in early to mid-February.
Intended to reinforce and complement the training Comporium provides for its customers, the Home Security Technician course is intended to strengthen installers' SMA platform knowledge at the point of installation from product updates to frequently encountered trouble calls. Course materials will consist of Comporium's content and NCTI's new e-learning format, featuring video-rich content and interactive lessons.
"Our goal is to maintain a high level of quality resources and information available for the promotion of our SMA platform by the operators," said Comporium SMA Solutions Vice President, Dan Lehman. "NCTI has provided quality learning and educational tools to the MSO community for 50 years, and we believe they are an ideal partner for this curriculum. We are pleased and excited that SMA will now be added to their vast technical training offerings."
"We are proud and honored that Comporium partnered with us to create and deploy Home Security Technician," said Stacey Slaughter, CEO of NCTI. "Our tier 2 and tier 3 cable customers have requested training in this area. To have the opportunity to create a dynamic and much sought-after course with such a progressive and well-respected company as Comporium is a definite benefit for us and our customers."
The Home Security Technician course currently consists of three lessons, with two more slated to be added in the near future. Students will receive an NCTI certificate of achievement upon successful completion of the course.
