ARRIS (NASDAQ:ARRS) has announced its first DOCSIS 3.1 modems for operators and retailers.
Altice (Euronext:ATC)-owned Portugal Telecom has selected the ARRIS (NASDAQ:ARRS) VIP5662EW UltraHD set-top for its recently launched MEO 4K service.
The ARRIS VIP5662EW is a wireless HEVC IP set-top designed to support UltraHD video, WiFi, and time-shift and DVR capabilities. The new set-top allows MEO to subscribers access MEO's 4K content, through on-demand content and a 4K TV app.
"We selected the ARRIS VIP5662 as the centerpiece of our new MEO 4K service, because it combines ARRIS's leadership in set-top design with future-ready 4K technology," said Luis Nascimento, CSO-B2C at Portugal Telecom. "Once more MEO is innovating, and our ongoing collaboration with ARRIS is bringing a new era of 4K content to our MEO subscribers and making our services the center of their in-home entertainment."
