Universal Electronics (NASDAQ:UEIC) has relaunched its MSO and customer-focused website, URCSupport.com. The site is the company's online customer support service portal for remote control setup and use.
Designed as a resource for cable TV subscribers to set up and operate their new remote control, the site is also intended to reduce MSO call center traffic. It features instructions, videos and lookup features to address the most common challenges faced when installing and configuring new CPE.
New features include a simpler user interface and enhanced search functionality based on the company's QuickSet technology, which incorporates a regularly updated device code lookup tool.
In other Universal Electronics news, the company says its Technical Support Services Call Center has saved cable TV service providers some $15 million by reducing truck rolls by more than 300,000 (at an estimated savings of $50 per truck roll) and handling more than 30 million live and automated subscriber calls to date.
