Rovi (NASDAQ:ROVI) and Nuance Communications (NASDAQ:NUAN) announced a joint initiative to deliver an end-to-end solution for conversational video content discovery. The two companies plan to provide an integrated conversational voice interface to deliver a personalized entertainment experience where people can speak naturally to find and access content.

Nuance's Dragon TV voice recognition, text-to-speech and voice biometrics will be integrated with Rovi's cloud-based Conversation Services. The combined solution is intended to enable device manufacturers and service providers to offer voice interfaces that result in relevant search and recommendations.

Nuance's Dragon TV leverages both embedded and cloud-based technologies. It's designed to be integrated into a remote, TV or set-top box and is customizable across more than 40 languages.

Rovi Conversation Services is powered by a dynamic Knowledge Graph, which maintains semantic, real-time information on more than 100 million entertainment-related entities, like program titles, celebrity names, brands and other relevant elements.
