Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) announced several promotions at executive VP, senior VP and VP levels. Of most interest in the technology realm are some promotions in the MSO's Consumer Services, Technology and Product, and Engineering and Platform Services groups.

In the Consumer Services Group, Matthew Strauss has been promoted to executive vice president and general manager, Video Services. In this role, he is responsible for all aspects of the video business, including the delivery of integrated entertainment experiences across devices. His team is responsible for the ongoing rollout of X1 and advancements in TV Everywhere. Matt's tenure with Comcast spans more than 10 years.

Also in Consumer Services, Daniel Herscovici has been promoted to senior vice president and general manager, Xfinity Home. He is responsible for all aspects of the Xfinity Home smart home business.

In the Technology and Product group, Jan Hofmeyr has been promoted to senior vice president, X1 Platform.

Bridget Kimball has been promoted to senior vice president, Software Development & Engineering. She will continue to lead the Combined Conditional Access Development (CCAD) organization, a joint venture with ARRIS.

Rick Rioboli has been promoted to senior vice president, Comcast Metadata Products and Search Services (CoMPASS). He leads the CoMPASS team, which is responsible for the cloud-based platform that powers Comcast's video applications with content metadata, customer information, and content discovery services.

In the Engineering and Platform Services group, Sherita T. Ceasar has been promoted to senior vice president, National Video Deployment Engineering. She is responsible for the overall vision, direction, and management of all national video deployment projects including new build infrastructure projects, software and hardware platform upgrades, technical launch validation, infrastructure capacity needs and decommissioning of end-of-life video equipment.
