ABOX42 will announce at IBC 2014 in Amsterdam its new line of third-generation Hybrid DVB receivers, which combine DVB reception with IP video as well as OTT capabilities. The new M-Series Hybrid SmartSTBs will be launched with three models: M15-S2 with DVB-S2 support for satellite TV reception; M15-T2 for reception of DVB-T and DVB-T2 signals; and the M15-CO for use in DVB-C cable networks.

All three models integrate Internet functionalities, which combine DVB, IPTV and OTT TV services. The new boxes also support ABOX42's recently launched OPX TV client.

Set-top features include:

  • Unified channel lists for DVB and IP channels
  • Multi-language EPG
  • Local and network PVR and time-shift support
  • Forward and backward EPG for catchup and restart TV
  • Integration of third party TV apps
  • Support of HbbTV and Red-Button services
  • Operator branded and skinned user interface
