At ANGA COM in Germany, Espial (TSX:ESP) will demonstrate TV user experiences and video applications based on HTML5 and the Reference Design Kit (RDK).

The company plans to demo HTML5-based user experiences and video apps - including guide, VOD, and favorites - on several RDK-based set-top boxes. Espial will also feature several user experience portals, custom sports apps, as well as software that gives pay TV subscribers access to HTML5 web apps such as YouTube.

The Espial STB Client - based on HTML5 and RDK - is designed to extend the capabilities of RDK with an application framework and user experience framework to provide an application engine with UX performance.
