Entone announced the integration of LG Electronics' Netcast media streaming platform with Entone's hybrid media gateway. The combined solution is designed to deliver linear TV and over-the-top (OTT) online TV services to Internet-connected consumer electronics devices without the need for a traditional set-top box.Entone has teamed up with LG to develop a streaming player application specifically targeting subscribers of broadband service providers, selected cable operators and other MVPDs. The first LG Netcast-enabled device supported by Entone will be the LG SP530 Media Player. The SP530 is designed to support OTT video services and operate on a standalone basis over any Internet connection. When integrated with Entone's FusionTV application and Magi hybrid media gateway, the media player supports live TV, whether delivered over-the-air (OTA) or through an authenticated pay TV service.Entone's Hybrid TV solutions, including the LG SP530 Media Player, will be on display at the NCTC Independent Show in San Diego from July 29-30.
