Alaskan cable operator General Communication Inc. (NASDAQ:GNCMA), better known as GCI, has begun initial deployment of TiVo (NASDAQ:TIVO) as its whole-home video solution. GCI plans to offer TiVo across its entire subscriber base over the coming months.The deployment includes the TiVo Premiere Q four-tuner gateway DVR and Mini IP set-tops, with plans to offer the six-tuner Pace XG1 gateway later this year. The offering combines linear cable TV with integrated on-demand and broadband content through TiVo's user interface.
