Entropic, Cortina Develop Gateway Ref Platform

Entropic Communications (NASDAQ:ENTR) and Cortina Systems announced their joint collaboration on a reference design for broadband routers and headless gateways. The reference design is intended to help service providers and equipment manufacturers address needs for higher broadband speeds, newer applications and IP-based video.The collaboration leverages Entropic's MoCA 2.0 solution and Cortina's CS7542 dual ARM Cortex-A9 processor architecture and is designed for wired or wireless data throughput of 400 Mbps to 1,000 Mbps, depending on the requirements of the operator. It's expected to be available in January 2013.
