Humax Buys into Gateway Market

Korean set-top box manufacturer Humax (115160.KQ) has become the largest shareholder of MMC Technology, a residential gateway provider, with a 21.98% stake by acquiring an additional 8.8% stake. In doing so, Humax expects to enhance its Home Gateway Server platform with MMC Technology expertise in WiFi and residential gateway solutions to expand its presence in the residential gateway markets with U.S. service providers.
