WiFi Home Networks: 25% Penetration

According to a Strategy Analytics report, by the end of 2011, 439 million households worldwide had installed home WiFi networks, equivalent to 25% of all households. The report predicts that the total worldwide number of WiFi households will reach nearly 800 million in 2016, a penetration rate of 42%.Current penetration is highest in South Korea (80.3%), the UK (73.3%) and Germany (71.7%). It's lowest in China (21.8%), Brazil (20.4%) and India (2.5%). The United States is in about the middle of the pack, at 61%.
