Videotron has released the illico 4K Ultra HD PVR using technology from Alticast. The companies say the deployment represents the first availability of a 4K/UltraHD set-top box on a commercial basis throughout a cable operator's entire footprint in Canada.

The illico 4K Ultra HD PVR uses Alticast's middleware and UI enablement and features multi-room PVR capabilities, interactive applications and integration with Videotron's back-office systems.
