At CES in Las Vegas, Broadcom (NASDAQ:BRCM) announced that Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) has chosen its connected home set-top box (STB) technology for use in the RNG150N interactive STB now shipping to subscribers. Based on the Broadcom BCM7125 system-on-a-chip (SoC) and running Comcast Reference Design Kit (RDK) version 1.1, the Comcast RNG150N STB powers interactive HDTV programming, connectivity, whole-home media distribution and 3D user interfaces.
