VeEX announced field portable test solutions capable of performing throughput testing up to 10 Gbps with Speedtest by Ookla. Available on the newest software for the TX300s platform, CX350s-D3.1, and CX380s-D3.1 products, the Speedtest Powered throughput testing is designed to allow broadband service providers to test their services on 1 GigE, 10 GigE, and DOCSIS 3.1 interfaces.
Speedtest by Ookla is widely used to measure Internet connection speed by both service providers and their customers. Speedtest integration into VeEX's test solutions is intended to let service providers provide undeniable proof to their customers that the broadband service being delivered meets the service level agreement (SLA).
"High-speed broadband subscribers are sometimes frustrated and may file unnecessary complaints as they try using regular computers to check their Internet speeds at or above 1 Gbps. Service providers face the challenge of proving their service is indeed being delivered as promised and that PCs are not enough to validate high-speed broadband services any more," said Ricardo Torres, director of product marketing, Ethernet solutions, for VeEX. "As a test and measurement solutions provider and strategic partner, we work closely with service providers to develop best-in-class test solutions to maximize operational efficiency."
The TX300s and CX350/380sD3.1 product lines are designed to support technologies inckuding broadband access, Ethernet/IP, Fibre Channel, CPRI (C-RAN) fronthaul, backhaul, TDM (OTN, SDH, SONET, PDH, T-Carrier), fiber optics (OTDR), WDM (OSA), and RF/CATV (SLM, DOCSIS).
