Witbe announced the launch of a cloud-based product for over-the-top (OTT) video monitoring. Previously available as an on-premises solution for operators and broadcasters to analyze the quality of OTT video, the cloud version can now be delivered through Witbe's reference network, Galilei, from several points of presence (POPs), including San Jose, Denver, Montreal, New York, Paris, Singapore and others.

The new product is designed to:

  • Deliver KPIs with great accuracy, because it does not rely on third-party hosting networks
  • Follow over time, with a constant frame of reference, the evolution of the performance of a service, regardless of the stability of the network used to verify the measurements
  • Know the quality of an OTT video service being delivered by reducing the number of intermediate networks used during measurements
  • Provide an offer "by the KPI" to operators and broadcasters with no infrastructure required

Witbe has its own IP network, dedicated to measuring the performance of its customers' digital services. This enables Witbe to have direct access to more than 120,000 networks through peering, including Apple, Google, YouTube and Yahoo, but also the rest of the Internet through transit partners such as Opentransit or Zavo.

To anticipate the resources needed to measure new OTT video services, the new architecture of Witbe's reference network Galilei is already operational on many POPs throughout the world. Essential infrastructures are redundant and interconnected. Software intelligence has been added to the hardware redundancy to visualize resources, allowing the setup of a Witbe Monitoring Robot, Video or Applicative on demand in a few minutes.

Marie-Véronique Lacaze, president and CEO of Witbe, said: "Right from the beginning, we were convinced that we could not measure a service's variations of quality using a network with random performances. It was crucial to have our own network to establish a frame of reference with constant measurements. We completely control the performances of our reference network Galilei, and it is especially adapted for OTT video measures. Witbe is proving its unique expertise on the market and its desire to assist its clients in their daily challenge to deliver all their services with the best quality of experience possible."
