Effigis says that the goal of developing this product suite was to answer the question, "How do we make sure there is no cable leakage?"

The DSG1 Lite/DRV3 Lite checks for VHF/UHF leakage using a pressure test during installation and service calls. This involves injecting a dual-band high-level RF signal into a customer drop cable for leakage testing.

Specifically, the solution consists of a two-piece equipment kit, comprising a portable transmitter and leakage receiver. The DSG1 Lite is a dual-band signal generator that inserts a high-level signal into the drop cable in order to locate hard-to-find leaks. Its companion, the DRV3 Lite, is a portable signal leakage detection meter designed to operate in all-digital and hybrid cable networks. It operates in system mode, detecting leakage carriers, or in pressure test mode, detecting high-level carriers generated from the DSG1 Lite.

DSG1 Lite operates simultaneously in both aeronautical and LTE bands using only one RF output. It operates at fixed frequencies of 125 MHz and 612 MHz. The DRV3 Lite is frequency agile from 118 to 140 MHz and from 600 to 860 MHz.

This was well-liked by Diamonds judges who were impressed by the idea of a high signal for small leaks and the use of two frequencies.
