PathTrak PNM locates plant issues and prioritizes severity based on the number of customers impacted. To make home impairments visible, the new HomeTrak feature enables a live spot-check for the installer to verify that the installation is free from physical layer impairments that may impact service quality or cause an early life fail. The HomeTrak algorithm analyzes individual cable modem upstream pre-equalization data and provides a readout via a web browser to alert the technician if there is a physical network impairment.

Viavi says PNM HomeTrak reduces call-backs by verifying/validating an installation or fix on the spot. The technician can use a phone, tablet, laptop or OneExpert CATV browser to enter the MAC address of the modem. This triggers an on-the-spot CMTS/cable modem SNMP poll and check of the pre-EQ data. Results are delivered immediately.
