The R&S CLG Cable Load Generator simulates cable TV networks with full channel loading. It can generate nearly 160 digital and analog channels - a capability one Diamonds judge called "very beneficial" for both equipment manufacturers and network operators.

Specifically, the R&S CLG has a frequency range from 47 MHz to 1,002 MHz and covers all cable TV frequency bands worldwide. Each digital channel can transmit one transport stream or pseudo random bit sequence. Analog channels carry test patterns with test tones. To simulate real-world conditions, the tool can superimpose 50 or 60 Hz AC hum on all channels.Previously, in order to generate the same number of TV signals as those delivered by the R&S CLG, a rack full of generators was needed.
