Comcast's (NASDAQ:CMCSA) Xfinity On Campus service is now available at St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens, FL. The service is intended to allow students to watch live TV, on-demand and recorded content on their IP-enabled devices, including laptops, tablets, and smartphones. The service is included with room and board for students living in on-campus housing.

Xfinity On Campus offers more than 100 live channels through its Xfinity Stream app and portal. The service also includes access to current season TV shows and movies via Xfinity On Demand. While off campus, students can use the Xfinity Stream app to access TV Everywhere programming that's part of their subscription.

"We are excited to give students the ability to enjoy their favorite entertainment, from live TV to the most popular shows and movies, through Xfinity On Campus, which continues to evolve to meet the needs of how this generation likes to view content - across devices and any time and anywhere" said Rafael Visbal, vice president of Commercial Development for Comcast's Florida Region.

Students can also upgrade their Xfinity On Campus accounts to include a selection of premium channels, including HBO, SHOWTIME and STARZ, as well as the Sports Entertainment Package.

Xfinity On Campus is intended to provide an opportunity to introduce a younger audience to Comcast's Xfinity X1.

"We are dedicated to not only providing students with a strong educational foundation, but with the best in student life amenities," said Richard McNab, associate vice president for Student Affairs and director of Housing at St. Thomas University. "Xfinity On Campus provides our student body with the ability to relax and view their favorite shows and movies from virtually anywhere on campus on the device of their choice."

Two months ago, Comcast inked a similar deal with Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL.
