Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) has launched its Xfinity On Campus streaming video service at Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh. Students can watch live TV, Xfinity On Demand and recorded content on IP-enabled devices, including laptops, tablets, smartphones and Roku players. The service is included with room and board for students living in on-campus housing.
Xfinity On Campus offers approximately 80 live channels including every major broadcast network, through Comcast's Xfinity Stream app and portal. The service also includes access to current season TV shows and movies via Xfinity On Demand. While off campus, students can use the Xfinity Stream app to login and access TV Everywhere programming that's part of their subscription.
"We are thrilled to provide Xfinity On Campus to our students, and we are particularly pleased that our students can stream TV on any device. That is exactly what they want, and it's another great reason to live at RMU," said John Michalenko, vice president for student life and dean of students at Robert Morris University.
Students can also upgrade their Xfinity On Campus accounts to include premium channels, including HBO, Showtime and STARZ, as well as the Sports Entertainment Package.
Robert Morris University joins Carnegie Mellon University, Penn State, Pitt and Duquesne University among the schools to offer Xfinity on Campus in Pennsylvania.
Robert Morris University offers more than 80 undergraduate and graduate degree programs across five academic schools and enrolls more than 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
