ThinkAnalytics has appointed industry veteran Gabriel Berger as CEO. Based out of ThinkAnalytics' Los Angeles office, Berger brings more than 20 years' experience in the media and broadcast tech sector.
Most recently Berger spent three years as executive vice president, sales and operations, at Vubiquity, prior to the firm's sale to Amdocs (NASDAQ:DOX), which was completed last week. Before that, he was senior vice president of sales at Digitalsmiths, prior to that company's acquisition by TiVo (NASDAQ:TIVO).
"ThinkAnalytics is a technology powerhouse in the TV search, recommendations and viewer analytics space and a natural fit for my experience and skill set. I'm fascinated by the intersection of artificial intelligence and big data within entertainment and the need for actionable analytics that allow pay TV and OTT players to fully engage with their customers and monetize their content as the battle for eyeballs intensifies," said Berger.
Eddie Young, chairman, ThinkAnalytics, said: "2017 was a pivotal year for ThinkAnalytics as the industry spotlight shone on what we do best: machine learning/AI-fueled viewer analytics, search and recommendations. We reached the milestone of 2 billion recommendations per day from over 200 million subscribers under license. With Netflix having 120 million+ paying subscribers, this makes ThinkAnalytics amongst the industry leaders in providing truly personalized entertainment worldwide. Just like Netflix, our TV operator customers know exactly the content their customers want to see - and we make it easy for them to do so."
