ARRIS' (NASDAQ:ARRS) Global Services team collaborated with The Weather Channel TV network to launch "Local Now" on Sling TV across all devices. Local Now is an over-the-top (OTT) streaming service that gives subscribers personalized weather, news, traffic and sports information based on their location.

ARRIS Global Services is providing end-to-end management of the service - from design to integration, test validation, deployment, customized HTML software development, and managed services. The service is the first to implement the ActiveVideo CloudTV platform's CPE virtualization technology within the ARRIS sales portfolio. It also integrates Anevia's ViaMotion+ packaging software and ARRIS transcoders.

Local Now is available in 207 markets throughout the United States. It provides localized content cycles on a short loop that are updated in real time.
