thePlatform has introduced a new Virtual TV Framework intended to enable cable, satellite and IPTV service providers to replicate their 24-hour, live, linear programming and VOD television services via the cloud.It leverages the company's mpx video publishing system to mirror the TV experience via broadband and also create more personalized features across IP-connected set-top boxes, game consoles, smart TVs, tablets, and other devices.The Virtual TV Framework is designed to provide cloud-based management of linear TV, VOD, enhanced discovery and personalization, targeted adverting, commerce, content protection, and multiscreen user interfaces (UIs).
