UNIV Teams with Akamai, thePlatform for VOD

Unified Video Technologies (UNIV) has teamed with Akamai Technologies (NASDAQ:AKAM) and thePlatform for its recently introduced uVOD solution.The white-label, VOD-as-a-service solution is intended to help service providers of all sizes launch branded VOD services for over-the-top (OTT) delivery. Based on proprietary technology developed by UNIV, uVOD is designed for multiscreen streaming and time-shifting.Akamai is providing content security, and thePlatform's mpx system provides the back-end video publishing system. The system includes built-in ad policy management, syndication capabilities, and support for ecommerce or storefronts.
