Conax Launches DRM for OTT Clients

At ANGA COM in Germany, Conax announced a client software development kit (SDK) containing a Conax security-hardened Microsoft PlayReady DRM client for delivery of video content from the streaming server to the native player of the client device. It's designed to conform to Microsoft's rules for compliance and robustness and is developed according to security requirements from major Hollywood studios and content providers.It uses security technologies such as obfuscation, key smearing, variability, renewability, secure storage, secure time and optimized cryptography, including security for OTT content. Conax also manages certificate, royalty and licensing on behalf of the operator.
