Minerva Unveils Pay TV over Data Nets

At NAB in Las Vegas, Minerva Networks unveiled a pay TV solution designed to be deployed over broadband data networks. Built on Minerva iTVFusion 5, the new Broadband TV (BBTV) service combines linear and on-demand video over a service provider's data network. BBTV incorporates adaptive bitrate streaming, data network CDNs, cross platform DRM/conditional access, wireless 8.02.11x LAN and QoE.The company and its ecosystem partners -- Harmonic, Avail-TVN, Verimatrix, Juniper Networks, Entone, and Wistron NeWeb -- also launched a BBTV Reference Platform and Solutions Guide to serve as a framework for operators to investigate, model and assess business opportunities available through Minerva BBTV.
