Vela Intros Decoder Board

Vela Research announced the introduction of its family of multiscreen, multi-format decoding solutions with the CineWave HD decoder, a board-level solution based upon Vela's digital signal processing technology that utilizes a system on IC design, and comes in a half-size PCIe form factor. It's designed for continuous decoding at low bitrates and is intended for live events, digital signage and streaming applications, as well as traditional OTT, broadcast, cable, VOD, video distribution, education, defense and healthcare applications. Features include:


  • MPEG-2, AVC/H.264, VC1, MPEG-2 Part 2 decoding


  • HD/SD/3G SDI


  • IP and DVB/ASI inputs


  • Component, composite, HDMI, S-Video outputs


  • PAL/ NTSC/Cinema support


  • Dolby Digital pass through


  • EIA 608 and 708 Closed Captioning


  • Web Based UI
