ANSI Signs Off on SCTE 35

The American National Standards Institute has approved ANSI/SCTE 35 2011, Digital Program Insertion Cueing Message for Cable. The standard supports the splicing of MPEG-2 streams for the purpose of digital program insertion (DPI), which includes advertisement insertion and insertion of other content types. The standard specifies a technique for carrying notification of upcoming splice points and other timing information in the transport stream.
