At Expo, Envivio introduced a dense transcoder designed for IT and headend requirements. The solution is built on HP BladeSystem c7000 and ProLiant BL460c series servers and powered by Envivio Muse, the multi-screen software architecture at the heart of the company's 4Caster platform. The software-centric approach to video compression and processing is intended for use on the HP blade to deliver live and on-demand services to iOS and Android devices, PCs with Adobe Flash or Silverlight, connected TVs and traditional MPEG-2 and AVC set-top boxes.Muse, also available on the Envivio 4Caster C4 Gen III and 4Caster C42 appliances, is upgradable and supports ad insertion and content protection on mobile devices. Envivio internally developed codecs support video from 1080p HD to mobile resolutions for smartphones. It also supports picture-in-picture, alternative audio languages, closed captions, DVB-Subtitles and DVB-Teletext.
